Again, we can relate the word womb specifically to the concept of a shrine or temple by way of another entry in Budge’s dictionary, which is written with the same uterus and hemisphere glyphs, carries the same pronunciation of “kha-t,” and is defined as meaning “temple.”¹⁶ Likewise, we can correlate both of these concepts with the notion of nine emergent gods and goddesses who are likely counterparts of the Dogon god Amma and the eight Dogon ancestors through a third word entry pronounced “kha-t.” Budge says that this word refers to “the body of the company of gods.”¹⁷ It is written with the uterus glyph and nine flags ; the flag is the traditional sign of a Neter. Budge defines the same word as meaning “of the body,” defined as “issue, children,” or the biological offspring that are the product of a womb.
